Abstract

I am truly honored to be the guest editor for this special issue of ‘A Contemporary Update on Gastrointestinal Bleeding’, on behalf of Gastrointestinal Intervention. When I was invited to serve this wonderful journal, I was flattered by the confidence to carry out this challenging work because there are top-notch scholars performing excellent clinical and research work on the treatment of gastrointestinal bleeding.

In this edition, comprehensive reviews on vascular anatomy and diagnosis to updated surgical, interventional, and endoscopic management about gastrointestinal bleeding, were included. The authors are from five different countries and their expertise lie in the fields of surgery, endoscopy and interventional radiology, which contributed to balanced and all-embracing review.

I really appreciate the invited authors who certainly outpaced my expectations and genially contributed to this edition sharing their knowledge, inspiration, and precious experiences over exhaustive review articles. I hope this issue of Gastrointestinal Intervention can provide new information and stimulate more research in the field of gastrointestinal bleeding.
